    Islands is one of my favorite King Crimson songs and I love the cornet solo at the end. The parlor piece before it is the perfect introduction to the song. In addition, Mel Collin is prominently featured on two of the tracks. Instruments featuring Collins are always some of he best of King Crimson/5().

    Dec 14,  · It may be a bold statement, but if Islands is your favourite King Crimson album, you should get this box set. Outstanding dynamics, punchy bass, instruments sounding unbelievably rich. The same goes for all the other albums, make no mistake, I just pointed Islands out, because the album has always sounded a bit underwhelming for me.
